JupiterJupiter was destined for a trip to Mexico and a slaughterhouse.  The woman who owned him couldn’t take care of him and her boyfriend decided to ship him south.  Holly heard about it and intervened and now Jupiter is with us.  As you can see, he has a severe cancerous growth on his penis.  Holly has been treating him with bloodroot, but he will eventually have to have surgery.  Jupiter only weighted 770 lbs. when we got him.  He weighed 1045 recently and appears very happy despite his cancer.

Tribute to Jupiter...

Jupiter has been on our website for a long time.  He was a very good horse, but sick with cancer.  The Livestock Board wanted us to put him down because he was in pain. Of course he wasn't, but he is old (15-30) and has severe cancer on his penis.  He was happy while he was here.  Governor  Richardson’s office intervened  in our  behalf and let us continue to care for him.

On the morning of May 27th, 2008, he was laying down and couldn't get up.  Holly found him, tried to help him up but couldn't.  She sat down next to him and fed him hay, grass and treats while he laid there with his head on her lap. He was smiling at her as she was crying. He passed away, but not on the terms of some government agency, but on God's terms.  Jupiter is in good hands now and is running around, cancer free, in Heaven waiting for us to join him.  Holly was devastated, but now she realizes Jesus will take care of him.  We had Jupiter cremated and he still blesses our home with his presence.
